Hold yourself accountable. At the same time don't allow expectations from others to pressure you into feeling that you need to pray a certain way or a certain time ONLY. (Referring to your individual prayer life)
For over a year, I prayed diligently. Early morning hours, throughout the day. At this time of my life as a new believer, I had plenty of time to sit with the Lord. And I never missed an opportunity to be in the Word and be present in my prayers to Him. It became like a conversation. Honestly, it was the most exciting time of my life.
These days I long for that solitude. The isolation. The plenty of hours just for God and I.
However, it's been a crazy new few months and boy has God been good. Its like God called me to action. Like, when you do a course, it's first theory then your practical.
Quite actually, with God's Word; what could be seen as theory is the same time practical. Cus' your character is going through a refining process...
What I am getting at is this, your prayer life will change as you get busy with what the Lord is tasking you to do. Your prayer life however will get better. Your times may change, some days, most days, all you can do is say 'thank you Jesus for loving me' or just a simple 'thank you Jesus for carrying my family through this day'.
As long as, your heart is pure and focused on God, truly what you pour out will be true.
I've learnt this so far;
•Don't be hard on yourself, but be accountable.
•Keep pushing yourself to pray.
•Start with a morning prayer, before even touching that cellphone.
•Every decision throughout the day, pray about it.
Ask the Lord to guide you in that regard.
•Sometimes the day gets challenging, find a space of privacy and just pour out your heart to God. Get up, and move forward again.
We need to our part in starting our day with God, and ending it with Him too. Most importantly I believe is to allow Him to lead throughout the day.
