Humility & Love; in action

We learn a lot about humility in scripture. We also learn a lot about humility in the world. The humility in both instances is similar but different. when in the world, if you're humble there seems to be a negative connotation to it. Not so much negative to the person who is walking in humility but rather to those who are not.

When I was living in pride, I saw people who walked in humility as those that were of lower income or none at all. It usually was those that really did not have much and I surely did not have much either, but I was prideful instead. As I grew up my understanding of humility changed, by the grace of God.

Even more so as I started my journey with Jesus. We learn through the scriptures of how lowly Jesus was. He never made himself out to be God, when in fact He was and is. Many times, Christians, tend to want to show off how humble they are but truly that is the very opposite of humility and that surely is how the world operates. So, we ought to be careful of being prideful of our 'humility'. Because then if you feel the need to show off how humble you are, or your acts of humility then are you even walking in true humility? Of course not.

As a child of the Most High God, we ought not to think more highly of ourselves but rather to think of ourselves with sober judgement, this involves esteeming others before yourself, being compassionate, gentle and kind this all-in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of us.

As an individual, you & I are no better than one another but rather each of us are uniquely made for a unique purpose in Christ. Part of that purpose is to help and encourage one another as brothers and sisters in Christ. Humility & love means to accept that each one of us has different responsibilities within the body of Christ, and each being equally important working together for the will of our heavenly Father.

Romans 12:5 so in Christ we. though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.

As we serve our Lord Jesus with one another, love is the requirement. In Romans 12(verse nine onward), Paul shares with us what love in action means.

🧡Love in action must be sincere. hating what is evil and clinging to what is good.
🧡Love in action is to never lack in zeal, keeping your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord Jesus.
🧡Love in action is to be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
🧡Love in action is to share with the Lord's people, those who are in need. Practicing hospitality.
🧡Love in action is to bless those who persecute you, bless and do not curse.
🧡Love in action is to rejoice with those who rejoice, mourn with those who mourn.
🧡Love in action is to live in harmony with one another. Not to be proud but to be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.
🧡Love in action is not repaying evil with evil & to always do what is right in the eyes of everyone.
🧡Love in action is to live at peace with everyone where it is possible and far as it depends on you.
🧡Love in action is to not take revenge but to leave room for God's wrath. It is God who avenges (Deuteronomy 32:5).
🧡Love in action is to feed your enemy when he/she is hungry (Proverbs 25:21-22).

Romans 12:21-Do not be overcome by evil, but rather overcome evil with good.
