God gives His best to those who leave the choice with Him.
If we were really to think about it, for most of our lives we've been living with less than God's best for us and we've been okay (sadly) with mediocre.
.
At some point for some of us, we get tired of mediocre and do all we can to change that narrative. We find smart ways to get the best out of life. However, even if we manage to grab hold of 'life's best' within our own means, we still fall into a place of 'it's not enough'.
Sometimes, when we chase the 'best things' in our own will, we almost always find it to be toiling, in other words it becomes incessant. Maybe not in the beginning but eventually that catches up with you, the burden of hard labour just to uphold status or a certain lifestyle (some for good moral reasons and some prideful). People are people, and you can have everything and still become depressed.
We can avoid all of that if we do one thing only; focus solely on #Jesus.
Derek Prince mentions 7 important things we must follow if we want #God'sbest
📌You must want God's best for you (not what you consider best for you)
📌F O C U S on J E S U S.
📌Mediate on God's Word.
📌Make friends with the Holy Spirit.
📌Hear & obey God's voice promptly.
📌Be careful of how and what you hear.
📌Be concerned with eternal rather than the temporary.
Ultimately let God choose for you. There is a popular phrase that says;
"Let go, & let God!"
The Word of God reminds us that everything we have received is only from God.
John 3 v 27; To this John replied, 'A person can recieve only what is given them from heaven.'
This serves as a reminder that recieving is different from grabbing. What God has in store for you and me we will receive and there is no need to grab or chase any of it like some sort of #blackfriday sale.
Restless christians never find rest in the Lord Jesus; because they act on their will.
It is time we find rest in Jesus, just as God expected the Israelites to do. He has a beautiful inheritance for each of us. This inheritance we do not have to fight for, He fights for us, all God expects of us is to focus on Him and what He wants for us and He will do the rest. Only once, we let go of our will.
Deuteronomy 12 v 9-10; since you have not yet reached the resting place and the inheritance the Lord your God is giving you. But you will cross the Jordan and settle in the land the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance, and He will give you rest from all your enemies around you so that you will live in safety.
Jesus reminds us that God is greater than all, has always been and will always be. #period
Anything that He has for you can never be snatched away, never.
John 10 v 29; My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand.
Lastly, to be meek is necessary in all this.
Matthew 5 v 5; Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
Meek means quiet, gentle, and not willing to argue or express your opinions in a forceful way. It can also mean humbly patient or quiet in nature, as under provocation from others. Another definition of meek is enduring injury with patience and without resentment.
The lie: "It’s not the Christian thing to speak up''
The truth: A meek person does not shy away from taking a stand against injustice rather the stand is taken in the right way, the right time following after the discernment the Holy Spirit provides.
All in all, we don't need to be greedy for what God has for us instead let us leave the choice with God and stay prayerful focusing on God, His Word, His will, His time & His way.
Prayer for meekness;
Dear heavenly Father, thank you for always wanting the best for us. Lord we know that the world says to assert ourselves, and put ourselves forward, and encourages us to grab and fight for what we want. And at times we have done exactly that. We plead for Your forgiveness as we turn our sight from the world and instead focus only on You Jesus and befriending Your Holy Spirit. As Your Word says to be meek, help us see that when we inherit from You we don't work for it as the world percieves but we recieve as a gift from You. Help us to be meek and help us to follow You the way You intend. Thank You that through meekness You provide everything we need and that we'll find deep contentment and joy when resting in You Father.
In Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
Ps. Jesus loves you, always.
