There are days where you just recognize something different about yourself. A new changed difference. A good difference. A growing difference. This was this day for me. 🌱
I had a work meeting, and the context was around bringing forth behaviors that aren't beneficial to the work environment. In general, I am not a confrontational person, I avoid confrontation at all costs. However, as I have grown in my faith and into this adult person, there has been some things that I just do not keep shut about. Whether in a personal or professional space. I am not the one you can be unfair around nor am I the one you can be around and tell half-truths. Please don't let this give you the idea that I am encouraging heated debates or even backbiting, basically anything negative. I just do not argue.
The point is, I have been dishonest in my life before Christ Jesus, and I am certainly not going to stand for lies now and so if that means to tell it like it is then so, be it. The same goes for, if someone around is being treated unfairly and you say nothing, then what type of person are you. You must definitely not be living for Christ then. 😬
I realized that what was said in this meeting made the next person very emotional. And I acknowledged the emotions but that does not take away from your behavior. What I am saying is that I used to be so quick to say sorry. Man, I said sorry always, for everything😟. As if everything was my fault - people were annoyed and some took advantage of this. In this meeting I did not say sorry because the behavior that resulted in this meeting being held in this first place was addressed prior & unchanged- things just got realer yk.
Lessons learnt:
🌱 Stand up for those who cannot do it for themselves (you never know what people ae going through).
Proverbs 31:8-9, Speak up for those cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up & judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor & needed.
🌱 Speak up against unfair treatment and lies!
John 3:19-21, This is the verdict; light has come into the world, but people loved the darkness instead of light because their deeds are evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been in the sight of God.
🌱 Sorry loses its empathetic value when overused & so do you lose your value.
2 Timothy 1:7 - For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives power, love & self-discipline.
Day 3 - Looked like;
Prayer - even if you can't get too much private time - make the effort.
Get in the deep with God - make the effort to read His Word - it's our compass.
Youth night - fellowship with the youth is always fun and also very intense when you get to know the warfare they deal with.
Light cook - this literally just means to cook something light. In my case it was patties.
🤍Remember that in all we do, it is our duty to walk in love.🤍
Ephesians 5:1-2, Follow God's example, therefore, as dearly loved children & live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
This is so so good!!! Wow very helpful and insightful, as we all really struggle with some of these bitter pills in our professional lives.
