The start of something is always the hardest.
However, with Jesus all things are possible!
Philippians 4:13- I can do all things through Him Who gives me strength.
Since doing this challenge, I have decided to blog about this experience as it helps me in being accountable and remain aware of the why (see previous post). Your why needs to be clear so that whenever you feel like you cannot go on, that it motivates you to endure & see it through. Remaining accountable is hard, and some of us are blessed with friends, family & even spouses who keep us accountable but for those who are on their own it is a bit tougher. This should not discourage you in any way. This is for you to trust God even more, be in prayer even more, seek His guidance even more, through His Word and through prayer.
📌Keep a journal as your go on this journey with Christ, you will need it.
My Day 2 looked like this;
Pray - seeking the Lord for His guidance to really help me stay aligned with His will you know. This day was particularly hard for me as I had so many errands to do that picking up something quick to eat was tempting. I managed to get through with being quiet which in turn helped me to focus & stay fixed on Jesus, through prayer. This meant I was more thoughtful, but it took a lot of effort. The reward at the end of the day was that I persevered through it and that gave joy.
In the deep with God through His Word - I hardly spent any time in His Word, just to have quiet time and mediate on His Word was so difficult to do. My flesh is so weak and on this day after all my errands I didn't even care to make the time neither before my day start nor after it had come to an end. #rough
No need to cook -with this challenge I have pre-planned when I will need to cook and whether that would be a light/heavy meal. Since, I have done this before hand it helps to keep track of what is actually needed when doing a meal plan. I am just beginning to see the benefits of meal planning and very much still a novice. However, no cook days are amazing for leftovers.
Remind someone how good God is -This stayed with me all day. You never know who needs to hear those words.
I will conclude with writing that whatever you challenge yourself to do, this should be for the glory of God first, then to make sure that you be better than you were. Allowing God to renew your mind and to offer every part of you as a living sacrifice to Christ.
Obedience is not easy, but it is worth it. What you decide to be a challenge may not be exciting for others and that okay - keep moving and know your why.
Just because we can do anything does not make all things beneficial nor constructive.
Remember to allow God in your decision making and please rest in waiting for His perfect answer.
Jesus knows what's best for you.
