A quiet life |1904

Make it your ambition to live a quiet life. 🌿

1 Thessalonians 4:11-12

and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life you should mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody. [ but God 🤍 ]

Friend, let me tell you when I first read this part of scripture, I was amazed and really felt immensely blessed. It was almost as amazing as a light bulb moment, but instead of an idea, it was more something I’ve been feeling toward for so long but just could understand completely. Until the Word of God just poured wisdom into my entire being.

God is soooo goood.🥹

Now all scripture is a blessing, I mean it’s all Jesus!🥰

I believe the reason why this particular part of scripture impacted me this much is that I never thought I’d find it in the Bible. It just completely amazes me how God thinks of everything.

Today’s society, everyone is in everyone’s business, always posting, the more you post the more you seem relevant, it’s all so busy and loud really.

I really don’t want that now, at some stage I actually did. But the amount of effort it took was just too much and I wasn’t even really trying. I caved and just chose not to dig into a hole of pride.

I am super thankful to God for helping me see it. Holy Spirit has been super amazing in helping me to not seek validation from the internet aka people pleasing aka the world. I don’t do social media any longer. The media perhaps but not the social part, ie, Pinterest (fav)

I took it so far that for the month of April, I will have no WhatsApp! It’s been tougher for my two close friends than for me. I’ve actually been enjoying the fact that I am not so easy to reach. People have to go through an effort to send an sms or make call and vice versa. And I’m here for that!

This is my journey, yours may look different.

📍Just remember that we purposely don’t know what Jesus life was like up until 30 years old.

📍Jesus also ran from the crowds to our Father.

Dear Jesus,

Thank You for Your wisdom, Your understanding and love. I am truly blessed and thankful for the transformation in my life. I pray that others reading this as well as myself will always have an ambition to lead a simple and quiet life with You Father. I pray that we each will seek You earnestly to show us what that looks like for us as individuals.

In Jesus Name, amen.

Jesus; not the crowdsurfing type.
