A penny for your thoughts | 2004

2 Corinthians 10:5

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself against the knowledge of God and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ Jesus.

💭At times it felt as if my mind imprisoned me.

Even now, I have moments like this, only difference now is, I have found authority in Christ and also His wisdom when it comes to this.

Felt like I would be taken captive by my mind disabling me from even thinking logically. Now BC (before Christ), this happened so much that I needed to escape my mind. I experienced many depressive episodes because I felt so trapped in my head.

I used to look for temporary relief, whether that be sex or more so drugs. It was the high of being gone off my mind that I seeked.  I really felt out of control and so I thought this was the best way to gain control. (Shame)😥

But thanks be to God! After getting to know Christ, I got to know the freedom in Him.

It was the hugest sigh of relief of my life, still is!

My eyes, my ears, my mind was opened and for the first time I knew that I am no longer a slave to my mind. And that all that’s in my mind is not all from me but that the enemy had planted seeds that I decided to water and no more!

I learnt something important and I really want to share this with someone. That through Christ Jesus we have been given the authority to not only demolish all things that sets itself against the true knowledge of God, yet also, we too can take every thought captive and make it obedient to our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. 🙌 #hallejuah

Additionally, in Romans 12, we are reminded that has we live lives sacrificed to and unto God our Father through Jesus Christ. We aim to pursue His righteousness, that in this we choose to not conform to this world but to be set apart, having our minds being truly transformed by Him, allowing us to be able to discern and test what truly is His will for us. His good and pleasing will. 🥹

Dear Jesus,

Thank You that there is freedom in You. Thank You that you deliver us from all evil and that You teach us through Your Word how to withstand the works of the enemy. Thank you for being our Lord and Saviour, help us to always remember that we can do all things through You, and that each thought that passes through our minds we can take captive and make it obedient to You Jesus. May we always pursue Yourgood and pleasing will for us.

In Jesus Name, amen.
